Radev: The Presidency has not received a report from the National Security Agency on Russian diplomats – Politics – Bulgaria – NOVA News

The Presidency has not received a DANS report on the Russian diplomats. This was stated by President Rumen Radev at a briefing after the NATO summit in Spain.

The head of state also said that at the meeting of the Security Council held on June 9, the case with the diplomats was not on the previously announced agenda. However, the topic was raised at the meeting in question, which was attended by a representative of the presidential institution. However, no decision was made, Radev said. And he added that subsequently the Presidency sent a letter to the Security Council of the Council of Ministers with an inquiry about the case. They were told that “there is no decision voted and adopted by this Council”.

“This shows that the decisions in the government are made according to some parallel mechanism,” commented the head of state.

He also responded to the BSP’s request to convene the CSNC. “A session of the CSNS cannot cancel a decision already taken by the resigned government. I remind you that the body that controls the Council of Ministers is the Bulgarian Parliament. It is clear that I also have to remind you that, even though it is in resignation, the cabinet is responsible for its actions Radev emphasized.

About the consultations for a new cabinet and possible early elections

The President also commented on the topic of possible early elections, stressing that holding them before September 15 is not appropriate.

“I believe that the potential for forming a government within this parliament has not been exhausted,” commented Radev.

He also said that there is no explanation for the non-appearance of “Continuing the Change” and BSP at the consultations of “Dondukov” 2 days ago. The head of state is categorical that the schedule for their holding was agreed with all parliamentary parties on Sunday, the day before the first scheduled consultation.

About the NATO summit

“At the meeting, the new strategic concept was adopted, which returns the Alliance to its original mission – to be a guarantor of the sovereignty and security of each member country,” said Radev.

And he added that the NATO Innovation Fund, for which Bulgaria has a serious commitment, has already been officially launched. “This makes it possible not only for our country to be part of the efforts to develop new technologies. It makes it possible for our defense industry and science to integrate into NATO’s flagship projects,” announced the president.
