MEP Radan Kanev believes that “Democratic Bulgaria” and the new formation of Kiril Petkov and Asen Vassilev should unite before the elections. According to him, this is the way to achieve victory and a majority in the next National Assembly.
Kanev stressed in an interview with Maya Kostadinova from the program “Speak Now” on BNT that this is his personal opinion. The interest of the formations must be assessed, but above all the public interest, he said.
we and their project, their energy and their new people will be able to win and form a government of the reformist majority, as we call it, or a coalition of the honest, as they call it, Kanev calculates.
During at the press conference today Kiril Petkov said that negotiations will be held and in the next parliament the coalition of the honorable will have 121 MPs. However, he did not specify with which parties talks will be held.
Later in the afternoon, Petkov and Vassilev added that they did not place taboos on parties, but were interested in the integrity of people and principles, but avoided the question of whether they would form a coalition with GERB.
Both dismissed the allegations, that the threads of the new project are being pulled by President Radev’s secretary.
Maya Manolova from “Stand Up” too asked for a coalition, but did not emphasize the “pre-election”.
