Rada proposed to deprive citizenship for a Russian passport


The authors of the document are three parliamentarians – Nikolai Knyazhitsky, Natalya Pipa and Oksana Savchuk.

Ukrainian people’s deputies proposed to the Verkhovna Rada to automatically deprive the citizens of Ukraine of persons who voluntarily received a Russian passport. The corresponding bill registered on the website of the parliament.

So, Draft Law on Amendments to the Law of Ukraine “On Citizenship of Ukraine” regarding the automatic deprivation of citizenship of Ukraine in case of voluntary acquisition of citizenship of the aggressor state – the Russian Federation registered on July 23rd.

Its authors are three parliamentarians – Nikolay Knyazhitsky (European Solidarity faction), Natalia Pipa (Voice) and Oksana Savchuk (non-factional).

The text of the document has not yet been made public.

Recall, according to the Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of Russia Dmitry Kozak, from 2016 to 2020 citizenship of the Russian Federation received 978 thousand citizens of Ukraine.
