‘Racist’ Nicolette van Dam under fire after attempting to speak Chinese | Entertainment

entertainment">Nicolette and her husband Bas Smit unsuspectingly shared some images of their day on Thursday Instagram. One of these images shows that the couple and their table companions enjoy a luxurious dinner where they are served by a chef. When the chef serves risotto with sea bass, Nicolette tries to show her best side. But that works completely counterproductive.

entertainment">Nicolette responds when the dish is put down. In her enthusiasm she then makes an attempt to say ‘I love you’ in Chinese: “Wǒ ài nǐ ”, she cries. However, the cook does not respond to the blonde and continues to explain the sauce that goes with the meal. Nicolette does not seem interested in that, after which she sharply interrupts him. “Can’t you hear what I’m saying to you? You speak Chinese, right? Or do I not speak Chinese? ”

entertainment">Bas Smit and Nicolette see no harm in the situation and therefore happily share the video on their social media. “How lucky we are with chef Jay at home and our Nic declares his love in Chinese after two wines, ”Bas writes with the images. “Think he was just shocked, my statement was pretty smooth,” Nicolette explains the chief’s response.

entertainment">But their followers think differently. The video was soon shared, and many angry reactions followed. “Racist and rude what she does here. Please don’t pretend to be surprised at Nicolette van Dam. She still thinks Blackface is normal, ”someone writes. “If I were him, I would answer in Swedish and ask if she doesn’t hear him! Because apparently every Asian is a Chinese, ”says another. And, “A politician would be impeached for this.”
