The bickering between the mother of Adrien rabiot, Kylian Mbappe and Paul Pogba reportedly happened after French beaten by Switzerland in the last 16 Euro 2020 at Arena National Stadium, Bucharest, Tuesday (29/8) early morning.
France was shocked by Switzerland in the last 16 match of Euro 2020. Had a 3-1 lead until the 80th minute, France finally lost on penalties 4-5 after Switzerland managed to equalize 3-3 in normal time.
Failing to achieve the victory that is in sight makes Rabiot’s mother, Veronique, reportedly angry. Veronique, who was present at the Arena National Stadium, claimed to have quarreled with Pogba’s family.
Daily Mail quoting RMC Sport reports that Veronique had an argument with Pogba’s family after asking why the Manchester United midfielder lost the ball which led to Mario Gavranovic’s Swiss equalizer in second-half injury time.
Pogba’s family reportedly did not accept Veronique’s words and then blamed Rabiot.
After France’s defeat to Switzerland, Veronique reportedly had an argument with Mbappe’s mother and father after the Paris Saint-Germain striker became the penalty taker who failed to make Les Bleus lose to Switzerland.
Veronique even asked Mbappe’s mother, Fayza Lamari, to: “Re-educate her son and make him less arrogant.”
The incident between Veronique and the player’s family reportedly lasted up to 20 minutes after the match in Bucharest. Some family members said they did not expect Veronique to blame Pogba and Mbappe.
However, Veronique took the blame after responding to the actions of Pogba’s family members who had blamed Rabiot during the match.
“The situation in the stands where the family was watching was already heated before the game was over. A number of security officers asked the Pogba family to calm down because they reacted negatively when responding to the mistakes made by Adrien Rabiot,” wrote RMC Sport.
