Ariana Grande’s R.E.M. Beauty has unveiled a new makeup collection inspired by the highly anticipated film,”Wicked: For good,” set to launch October 1. The line aims to capture the fantastical world and characters of the movie, offering fans a way to embody the looks of Glinda and Elphaba.
The collection’s release coincides with growing excitement surrounding “Wicked: For Good,” a continuation of the beloved story following the first act, where Elphaba, portrayed by Cynthia Erivo, challenges the Wizard and attempts to reveal his deception, while Glinda, played by Grande, cautions her about public opposition. This launch taps into the dedicated fanbase of both the musical and the upcoming film, offering a tangible connection to the story’s aesthetic.
The R.E.M. Beauty x Wicked: For Good collection includes the Ozian Forest Eyeshadow Palette, a Glinda Makeup Set, an Elphaba Makeup Set, the Emerald City Metallic eyeliner set, and the So Popular Ph Adaptive Lip Oil, among other items. The film itself will feature two original songs performed by Grande and Erivo.
“Wicked: For Good” premieres in cinemas on November 21, and features appearances from iconic “Wizard of Oz” characters like dorothy Gale, the Cowardly Lion, the tin man, and the Scarecrow, tasked by the wizard (Jeff Goldblum) with retrieving the Wicked Witch of the West’s broom. The film picks up after the events of the first act,with Elphaba going against the Wizard and Glinda warning her that the people of Oz are against her.
