Yucatan reports 167 new cases and 35 deaths
Quintana Roo would take another step in the recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic
Quintana Roo will start the week with the two regions of its epidemiological traffic light in orange and, in addition, the north zone – where Cancun and Playa del Carmen are – could rise to yellow if the trend in infections and deaths from the Covid-19 pandemic is keeps stable.
Governor Carlos Joaquín González indicated that as the northern zone moves towards yellow, the activities and percentage of operation in capacity of hotels, restaurants and other establishments will increase, as well as the reopening of the beaches for the population.
In Campeche, Governor Carlos Miguel Aysa González said that the entity is on a “plateau” with a downward trend, but there is no pressure for the reopening of activities because “health comes first and the economy is aside.”
The health authorities of Yucatan reported yesterday 167 new infections of the disease and 35 deaths. The cumulative percentage of recovered patients amounted to 78%. Currently, there are 598 hospitalized.
