Quindío joins the great vaccination day by enabling 31 points – La Crónica del Quindío

Catching up on the vaccination schedule is a requirement for going back to school.

The day will be between 8 am and 4 pm, there are 21 types of biologicals.

Today, January 28, between 8 am and 4 pm, a vaccination day will be held nationwide with the aim of starting, completing and reinforcing schemes for all people according to their age.. In Quindío, 31 points will be enabled for children under 12 years of age, girls from 9 to 17 years of age, pregnant women, women of childbearing age, population susceptible to yellow fever, Covid-susceptible population.

In it Quindio 21 biologicals are available that prevent 26 different diseases, in addition, all the vaccines against the Covid-19 –Sinovac, Moderna and Pfizer– to start, complete and finish schemes.

In front of the vaccination points at the departmental level, from the Departmental Health Secretary It was confirmed that the authorized points in the municipalities are located in local hospitals, parks or main squares, as well as in some IPS.

In the case of the city of Armenia, the following points are enabled. In private IPS: Virrey Solís, Salud del Caribe, Idime Fundadores, Sagrada Familia Clinic, Sanitas Medical Center, Police Health, Military Health Clinic, Viva 1ª. In public IPS: hospital del Sur, departmental hospital San Juan de Dios; and health centers: Piloto Uribe, Paraíso, Sur ambulatory care center, Alfonso Correa Grillo, Santa Rita, Clarita. In addition, they will be present in the Sucre park and health professionals will be there under the door-to-door methodology in neighborhoods such as Santander and La Mariela.

Of the target population, for Armenia determined that it is made up of children under 12 years of age, girls from 9 to 17 years of age, pregnant women, women of childbearing age from 10 to 49 years, susceptible population for yellow fever from 1 to 59 years old, children from 18 months to measles booster dose 2, children of 2, 3, 4 and 5 years for vaccination with measles booster dose, 18-month-old children for the first pentavalent booster. Furthermore, for vaccination against Covid-19the doses will be applied to the population over 3 years of age, to start and complete the primary scheme and reinforcements.

They also clarified that the target population for application of the biologic for hepatitis B it will be transgender women, sex workers, people who inject drugs, street dwellers, men who have sex with men, indigenous population over 18 years of age. Similarly, they stressed: “All children between 18 months and 5 years must attend the nearest vaccination point to receive the triple viral booster.”

In the same way, it was highlighted that updating the vaccination schedule is a fundamental requirement for entering classes as indicated by the decree 2287 of 2003.

Yarianis Carrillo Rosado, the agency’s vaccination leader, expressed about the day whose motto is ‘Updating Day’: “The protagonists should be parents and caregivers, taking children to the nearest vaccination point to start, continue and reinforce schemes, avoiding diseases or deaths that can be prevented through vaccines.

Likewise, the leader Carrillo Rosado commented that there were some changes in the vaccination schemes. “For this year, the vaccination schedule for children comes with greater protection because a pentavalent dose was included for all children as of January 1, 2023 in their first booster at 18 months. This protects them and prevents infections caused by the influenza type B, responsible for almost half of infection-related deaths in children under 5 years of age”, explained the health professional.

Another important change that was presented for this 2023 in terms of the vaccination scheme was to include the second dose of triple viral booster that prevents measles, rubella and mumps diseases. “Thus achieving greater protection against these disease-causing viruses that continue to circulate in other countries,” he said.

And finally, Carrillo Rosado invited them to participate, attend, approach and ask at any of the 16 vaccination points in the city to find out their status and catch up, especially children, pregnant women and the elderly.

For his part, José Antonio Correa López, manager of Red Salud, also joined in inviting the cuyabros to participate in the event: “In Armenian Health Network We are here to take care of everyone, which is why I want to invite you to this first national vaccination day today, January 28. We will be vaccinating Regular PAI and vaccines against Covid-19. You must bring the vaccination card and the identity document, we will attend to different populations and to all people who require some type of vaccine that is contemplated in the PAI”.
