Many citizens of the Ostalb district have already decided who they want to vote for in the state elections this weekend. A query from the RZ revealed the trend that the postal vote recommended by the district office due to the pandemic is indeed popular. However, one hears again and again in conversations that, especially with this choice, many people find it difficult to make a decision.
The political landscape is in motion and the once so firmly established and polarizing ideological orientation of the major people’s parties no longer applies. In addition, the long-time Gmünder CDU member of the state parliament, Dr. Stefan Scheffold – who had previously “subscribed” to the direct mandate in the Gmünd constituency, no longer. There are also “new faces” at the start at the other parties. Correspondingly, until the moment when they put their cross in the voting booth or at home, voters think about which party they feel is best represented.
As part of its four-part series, the Rems-Zeitung therefore offered the opportunity to compare answers to questions we asked, how the candidate would act on key political issues if they were a member of the State parliaments. We are of course aware that there are other parties or names of candidates on the ballot paper. To ask all of them would have gone beyond the scope, so that we have limited ourselves to those parties that are already represented in parliaments or, according to forecasts, have a good chance of going to the state parliament after the election 2021 to belong.
The fourth and last part of our series “Questions about the state election 2021″ Read in the Monday edition of the data center. We will present the complete ballot paper and other details on election day in the course of the week and also offer an extra page with answers under the aspect of “Politics in plain language”.
