The portable toilets are located in the Lepelstraat; a side street of the Grote Markt. The municipality chose this location because the toilet truck requires a water supply, electricity and a drain. This location also makes it easy for market vendors to use the facility if they spend a day behind their stall. Van Zetten is surprised about this. “It is in a nice spot in Haarlem, between the shops. In fact, the toilets are for events. They look like a fairground attraction; there are women with big breasts on it, right in front of the church. That does not fit with the woke hassle with which the municipality judges people. And when it comes to the place, why don’t they put it in front of City Hall?”

Van Zetten thinks that many more people will see the toilets there. “Many people do not know that the toilet cart is there, while it is rented for a lot of money and it is also sexist,” she continues.

According to the spokesperson for the municipality, the toilets are used at events throughout the country. “They are easily accessible, corona-proof and above all clean.” He does not comment on the images on the toilets, but does say that the municipality only receives happy reactions about the facility.

During the council meeting, Van Zetten asked questions about the toilet. That didn’t work. The toilets will remain in the chosen spot.
