Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

Manufacturing company chipset origin United States (US), Qualcomm officially released Snapdragon 888 at the Snapdragon Tech Summit.

In 2021, Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 will support flagship phones such as Samsung, OnePlus, LG, Sony, and others.

According to The Verge, the 8th series chipset is the company’s top series. The Snapdragon 888 makes a big improvement to 5G modem connectivity, unlike its predecessor Snapdragon 865.

The Snapdragon 888 will feature the Qualcomm X60 modem which was announced earlier this year via a 5nm process for better power efficiency. Uber Gizmo.

In addition, increased 5G carrier aggregation across the mmWave and sub-6GHz spectrum bands.

Apart from enhancing 5G modem connectivity, Qualcomm is also teasing some of the other advances coming to the Snapdragon 888 including the sixth generation AI engine.

The Snapdragon 888 will also feature the most significant improvement in Qualcomm Adreno’s GPU performance, although specs about what kind of upgrade will yet be announced.

Lastly, Qualcomm previewed the new photography features the Snapdragon 888 will enable, including the ability to shoot approximately 120 photos per second at 12 megapixel resolution, thanks to an updated ISP (which is up to 35 percent faster).

A more comprehensive overview of the specs and upgrades offered with this year’s chipset will come on the second day of the Snapdragon Tech Summit, on December 2 local time.

Previously, the Snapdragon 865 was equipped with a Spectra 480 CV-ISP image processing chip capable of capturing 1 billion colors and can be used to record 8K video. The chip also has an image capture speed of 2 Gigapixels per second.

In addition, the Spectra 480 CV-ISP is capable of transporting 4 pixels per clock cycle so as to save power.

Not only that, Susanto claims that the implementation of the Spectra 480 CV-ISP has saved power by 16 percent when taking video, making images 18 percent more detailed, and 40 percent better when taking pictures in low light. In addition, the chip supports HDR10 +.

The Adrono 650 on the processor also makes the graphics rendering process 25 percent faster and makes 35 percent more power efficient.
