Needing and liking are 2 things.

A phone with 5g that allows you to use a band that is low in terms of utilization is a big luxury, you often only have this luxury in the beginning. 4G is basically fast enough, I get 330mbit down and 40mbit up on the transmission tower in my neighborhood. When I come to the city it is often only 20 down 1mbit up.

If your phone has 5G, it is actually like the middle of the night on the highway instead of during rush hour. Because of this, you often get good speeds in cities (from my personal experience with 4G when it was launched). This is certainly good for ease of use.

After 2 years, an iPhone often has a good sales value, assuming that 5g will simply be standard in 2 years and will therefore certainly add value to the phone. You don’t buy it for it, but it still has value.

I change my phone every year, I have that luxury, not everyone. So if you are now a 3 to 4 year old phone and you want a new one for the next 3-4 years, a 5g model is definitely recommended.
