At the beginning it was said that companies could book the forehead of the 25-year-old Instagram celebrity as an advertising space, now everything is completely different.
At the beginning of an explanatory video on YouTube, Melina Sophie says: “I don’t want to keep you tortured, the tattoo is not real! That was a prank,” laughs the returned emigrant into the camera.
Before Melina Sophie gets to the point, she explains very briefly that she has kept it a secret from her friends and even family that it is a fake tattoo. “It was extremely difficult.” And then the young influencer reveals what the QR code is actually doing on the forehead.
“My goal was to get an incredible amount of attention for a topic that is vital,” she says. “Eat!”
She has been dealing with the subject of nutrition and sustainability for some time. “I was shocked to see how little I actually know,” continues Melina Sophie. “I now know for myself that it is incredibly important to be informed.”
And further: “The way in which we produce our food – according to the motto ‘always more’ and ‘always cheaper’ – unfortunately leads to a world that will simply no longer be able to feed us in the future.”

“You follow various stars, athletes, influencers, but you don’t follow where your food comes from. It is so very important,” she points out.
Much fewer harvests every year and no more fish in 50 years, these are Melina Sophie’s fears, which she now shares with her followers in the video. Every year we would lose ten million hectares of fertile soil in the world. “So that you can roughly imagine: That corresponds to an area of around 14 million soccer fields every year!”
She admits that she has not been long on the subject. “But now, at the latest, the time has come.” And their followers should also think about where their food comes from.
“If we really want to shop sustainably and socially, we need more information than the advertising promises,” says Melina Sophie. If you want to find out more about your food, you can buy it from Followfood. “I can find out everything I want to know via the QR code on the packaging: where it comes from, how it was grown and even the ecological footprint.”
The QR code was therefore an advertisement for the organic food producer’s QR codes.

Final conclusion to the campaign: The QR code on the forehead is a fake. But the square black and white contrasting pattern on the packaging of certain foods can be used to find out more about them.
If you scan the QR code on Melina Sophie’s forehead now, you get to the Followfood website with further information.
On the drastic measure of the influencer with more than 3.6 million subscribers alone Instagram the spirits parted. Now everything is not so wild. Melina Sophie’s hater should have found her peace with the action.
