Putin’s personality cult in Russia or not – data from a survey of Russians

42% of citizens of the Russian Federation would not like to see Vladimir Putin as president of the country after the elections in 2024, and 26% believe that the state has his personality cult.

About it in question in the results of a poll conducted by the “Levada Center”.

It is noted that this figure (42%) is the highest indicator of Putin’s anti-rating since 2013; at the same time, 47% of the country’s citizens hold an absolutely opposite point of view. Compared with February 2021 data are negligible.

The idea of ​​Putin’s stay in power after the end of his term is most popular with viewers: 65% are in favor, 26% are against. At the same time, this idea is not popular among readers of social networks (31% and 59% respectively) and Telegram channels (29% and 66% respectively).

In addition, people aged 55 and older (57%) mainly want to see Putin as president of the Russian Federation, least of all – young people aged 18-24 (57%)

In the same time, 26% of Russians believe that there is a Putin personality cult in Russia. Note that this is the highest figure since 2010 – then the figure was 25%. Another 21% believe that this cult does not yet exist, but there are already more and more prerequisites for its emergence.

This study was conducted on September 23-29, in total, using the personal interview method at home, it was interviewed 1,634 people aged 18 and over. The survey was conducted in 37 settlements, 50 constituent entities of Russia.
