Putin’s New Order After Russia Takes All of Ukraine’s Luhansk

MOSCOW, KOMPAS.com – Russian President Vladimir Putin issued a new order after his troops took control of the entire region Luhansk, Ukraina timur.

On Monday (4/7/2022), Putin asked Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu to continue the Moscow attack on Ukraine.

“Military units, including the Eastern group and the Western group, must carry out their duties according to a pre-agreed plan,” Putin told Shoigu.

“I hope things will continue in their direction as has happened in Luhansk so far,” he said AFP.

Shoigu told Putin over the weekend that Moscow troops were now in full control of the Luhansk region.

Russia considers this a major victory more than four months after its leader sent troops to Ukraine.

Putin said on Monday that troops taking part in the Luhansk campaign should rest and rebuild their combat capabilities.

Having given up on its original goal of capturing the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, following fierce Ukrainian resistance, Russia has focused its efforts on securing complete control of the territory. Donetsk and Luhansk in eastern Ukraine.
