Advisor to the Head of the President’s Office and military expert Alexei Arestovich called several signs that Russian President Vladimir Putin is already ready to end the war in Ukraine.

“They want to end the war because the combination of defeats on the battlefield and sanctions that break the back of their economy calls into question the socio-political situation within the Russian Federation itself,” Arestovich said.

He noted that the Russians lost in six out of eight operational areas, among other things, this became clear when the Russian Federation announced that they did not want to storm Kyiv, but only diverted troops.

“Now their main concern is for Putin to come to the meeting with Zelensky with at least some kind of power position. At least take something, Mariupol, the JFO zone, create at least some serious threat, because where Putin is, there is victory, he can’t afford to come totally lost,” Arestovich believes.

Yermak’s adviser is also sure that Putin is ready to blame his entourage for his loss, having falsified a conspiracy against himself.

“As long as they have the illusion that they can take Mariupol, they can surround the JFO zone and he will come to bargain about his loss, about the conditions for formalizing his loss, but at least not from such a shameful position that he has now,” Arestovich emphasized. .
