Russian President Vladimir Putin said that on Monday, April 25, the FSB stopped an attempt by a terrorist group to kill a well-known Russian journalist, RosSMI reports. Later, the FSB reported that it was a propagandist Vladimir Solovyov.
“This morning, the Federal Security Service stopped the activities of a terrorist group that was planning to attack and kill a well-known Russian journalist,” Putin said at a board meeting of the Russian Prosecutor General’s Office.
“We know by last name the curators of Ukrainian Nazis from Western services, primarily the CIA, who give such advice as killing journalists,” Putin added.
The FSB reported that it was about the preparation of the murder of Vladimir Solovyov.
As noted in the Russian special service, the murder was allegedly planned on the instructions of the SBU.
According to the FSB, “members of the criminal group were arrested and confess.”
Among other things, according to the FSB, the detainees found drugs, fake Ukrainian passports, nationalist literature and paraphernalia.
