Russian President Vladimir Putin agreed with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan that Turkey would help clear Ukrainian ports of mines.

The agreement assumes that as a result of demining Ukraine will not strengthen its military potential.

This was announced by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov at a press conference in Saudi Arabia, Russian media write.

“According to the results of the conversation (Putin – ed.) with President Erdogan, an agreement was reached that Turkish colleagues will try to help organize the demining of Ukrainian ports, to free ships from there, which, in fact, were taken hostage, with cargoes necessary for countriesthat are developing,” the Russian minister said.

He stressed that this agreement assumes that after the demining, Ukraine will not strengthen its military potential and will not cause damage to the Russian fleet.

Remember May 31st Lavrov said that Russia will allow the exit of blocked ships with grain from Ukrainian ports, if “Ukraine solves the problem of demining coastal waters.”
