Ukraine has no chance in terms of the return of Crimea to its composition. On Friday, June 26, said the chairman of the Federation Council Commission on Information Policy Alexei Pushkov.
“Ukraine has no chance to return Crimea, [бывший президент Украины Петр] Poroshenko may not even talk about a “unique chance.” The epidemic and oil prices will not affect this in any way, ”he wrote on his Twitter.
Pushkov recalled that in 1991, history gave Ukraine a chance to retain the peninsula, but the authorities did not take advantage of this, after which in 2014 Crimea returned to Russia.
On the eve of Poroshenko said that Kiev appeared “Unique chance” to return the peninsula, since Moscow allegedly can no longer finance the republic.
Crimea returned to Russia in 2014 as a result of a referendum in which 96.6% of the region’s inhabitants supported reunification. Ukraine still refuses to recognize the results of the vote and is making plans to “return” the peninsula to its control.
On June 10, the former Foreign Minister of Ukraine Pavel Klimkin commented on the words of his country’s President Volodymyr Zelensky that Russia would be “ashamed” of Crimea, and offered to “select” the region.
