The government plans to regulate the purchase of fuel. This step was taken because Pertalite consumption has soared since Pertamax prices rose on April 1, 2022.
As a result of increased consumption, the government must pay a larger compensation burden. Though consumption is not necessarily right on target for productive things.
The high consumption of Pertalite makes the government plan to regulate its sales in the near future. Recently, there was a plan to ban the consumption of Pertalite for cars.
“If this is not braked, it is certainly very large (compensation). It is not necessarily used for productive things. For commercial vehicles, yellow plates, is it an option to give permission to use Pertalite,” said BPH Migas Committee Member Saleh Abdurrahman to detik.com .
Until now, it has not been officially determined what type of car will be prohibited from buying Pertalite. It’s definitely in the luxury category.
“Are black plate cars allowed, but not luxury ones. What are the criteria for luxury, whether following the Ministry of Finance, VAT on luxury goods, is our study,” he continued.
So, what is the current price of Pertalite and Pertamax fuel?
The price of Pertamax at all Public Fuel Filling Stations (SPBU) varies depending on the region. Meanwhile, the price of Pertalite at all gas stations in Indonesia is the same, namely Rp. 7,650/liter.
Pertamina makes adjustments to fuel prices from time to time in order to implement the Ministerial Decree (Kepmen) ESDM No. 62 K/12/MEM/2020 concerning Basic Price Formula in Calculation of Retail Sales Prices for General Fuel Oil Types of Gasoline and Diesel Oil Channeled Through Public Fuel Filling Stations.
