Puerto Rico to Host Miss Universe 2026, Expected to Boost Tourism and Showcase Culture
Puerto Rico will host the Miss Universe 2026 competition, marking the third time the island has held the international event. The announcement was met with enthusiasm from Puerto rican officials and personalities,who anticipate a significant economic impact and an opportunity to highlight the island’s unique cultural offerings.
Jenniffer González, Puerto Rico’s Resident Commissioner in the U.S.congress, expressed her excitement, stating, “Thousands of visitors will discover what makes our island unusual, its unmatched beauty and the unique charm that make puerto Rico a truly extraordinary place.”
Dayanara Torres, a commentator for this edition of the competition, emphasized the broader benefits, saying, “This is an incredible opportunity for the world to experience our culture, our music, our gastronomy, our traditions, our unique spirit that speaks of us, our people. Hosting Miss Universe for the third time will boost our tourism, support our local businesses and show everything that makes Puerto Rico unforgettable.”
