Public prosecution assumes less susceptibility Thijs H.

H. killed his victims by stabbing several times with a knife. In the courtroom, H. said earlier that he saw messages “in code language” in news reports and license plates that, together with delusions in his head, made it clear to him that he had to kill two people. If H. didn’t, his family would be killed, he thought.

Victims

In The Hague he found his first victim: a woman who was walking her dog in the bushes of Scheveningen. He cut a little finger off her. He wanted it as proof.

Later, he says he was again instructed to kill two people because he failed to carry out the assignment the first time; it had to be two.

The second attack was on the Brunssummerheide. He ran the first person he had in mind. “I did not get the courage,” said H. The young age of the passerby would have played a role in this. Then Thijs H. killed a 63-year-old woman with a knife and a little later also a 68-year-old man. According to the OM, H. wore headphones and listened to metal music.

H. said earlier that he could read in the license plates of cars that he had done his job well this time.
