PSV and Tottenham Hotspur have resumed negotiations on Steven Bergwijn. The Eindhovens Dagblad reports this on Monday afternoon. The newspaper expects both parties to reach an agreement quickly about a transfer from the attacker.
Bergwijn wants a transfer to Tottenham and coach Ernest Faber said that he would therefore rather not play against FC Twente. Faber did not lie for a transfer, however, the player of the PSV management did not get permission to travel to London. General manager Toon Gerbrands reacted furiously and threatened to cut off negotiations with Tottenham.
PSV is in control of the situation around Bergwijn. The club is not satisfied with the behavior of the attacker and feels cheated, according to several media. Tottenham is expected to pay more than thirty million euros for the 22-year support of the people of Eindhoven.
“The cold about that is now a bit out of the air and all parties have resumed the talks,” writes the newspaper about the anger at PSV. “The expectation is that Bergwijn can travel quickly to London to make the transfer completely in jugs and jars.” It is not exactly clear where Bergwijn is now, but he was already in London on Sunday. He even recorded a video there in a hotel room, to tell his side of the story.
The talks between PSV and Tottenham Hotspur about Steven Bergwijn have started again. It is expected that white smoke will soon be available and therefore a deal. A bit on the ED site.
