PSIS managed to qualify for the semifinals of the 2022 President’s Cup after defeating Bhayangkara FC with a score of 9-8 on penalties in the quarter-finals after the two teams drew 1-1 in normal time.
Meanwhile, Arema advanced to the semifinals after getting rid of Barito Putera through a 5-4 penalty shootout victory after both teams played 0-0 in normal time.
This match is predicted to be interesting, especially now that PSIS is reinforced by former Arema striker Carlos Fortes.
“Now that Fortes is playing for PSIS, of course the coach and the Arema players know how Fortes plays. But the most important thing is that Fortes has good motivation here. Fortes is very happy here and is doing his job well,” said PSIS coach Sergio Alexandre, quoted from President’s Cup page.
