A group of people gathered in Jefferson Square Park to protest against police killings of African-American woman Breonna Taylor in March.
On Saturday night, a man opened fire on protesters in the park, and a video shared on social media shows people fleeing and trying to find cover. Later in the recording you can see at least one person bleeding on the ground.
The perpetrator’s identity and the motive behind the shooting are unknown.
26-year-old Taylor was shot eight times when police stormed her apartment without warning to carry out a drug raid. No drugs were found and she herself was not suspected.
The killing sparked strong reactions and prompted the Louisville Police Chief to step down. The cop who shot also got fired.
After the killing, there have been almost daily demonstrations against police violence and racism in Jefferson Square Park.
