Protest action over Mahsa Amini’s death continues, Iran founder’s house burned down

The protesters Iran burning down the former supreme leader’s old house Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini who is also the founder of the country. The arson action was captured in a video circulating on social media during an anti-regime demonstration in Tehran, triggered by the death Mahsa Amini entering its third month.

As reported Arab newsOn Friday (11/18/2022), videos posted by activist group 1500tasvir via Twitter show protesters taking to the streets in at least 23 cities across Iran on Thursday (11/17) local time.

In the city of Khomein, which is Khomeini’s birthplace, videos circulating on social media show protesters setting fire to Khomeini’s old house which has now been turned into a museum.

Several other Khomein videos show protesters shouting slogans against Iranian leaders.

“This year is the year of blood, (Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei) will be overthrown,” protesters in the capital Tehran chanted in one of the videos posted by 1500tasvir.

Semi-official news agency do reported that at least five members of the Iranian security forces were killed during demonstrations on Thursday (11/17) local time.

Demonstrations have been the order of the day in various parts of Iran since last September 16, when an Iranian Kurdish woman named Mahsa Amini (22) died about three days after collapsing in the custody of the morality police. She was detained in Tehran on suspicion of violating the strict hijab rules.
