Protection against cryptocurrency mining on GeForce RTX 3060 allegedly did not last, they broke it in China

GeForce RTX 3060 was introduced two weeks ago and was intended to provide higher supplies to players due to the deliberate curtailment of cryptocurrency performance. The protection consisted of a combination of the alone GPU, firmware for it and drivers (it is a secure communication – handshake – between all three elements). However, Chinese hackers managed to start mining Etherea at full capacity. The card itself should have a correct output of around 40-45 MH / s, but when mining algorithms are detected, the output will drop to about half to 20-25 MH / s after a while.

This mode ensures that the detection of the mining algorithm does not halve the power after a while, and according to the published screenshots, the performance of the mining rig with 8 GeForce RTX 3060 stays at a total of 362.75 MH / s (45.3 MH / s per card) in the Dagger Hashi-Motto algorithm. Although it could be a record of the achieved power from the first few tens of seconds before falling in half, there are reports that it works and the power after the application of the mode is close to 50 MH / s (so we will see if it will confirm even more serious tests) . It can therefore be assumed that the prices of the RTX 3060 will rise higher than before (which is already happening). It is also very likely that the protection will be broken in u upcoming GeForce RTX 3080 Ti.-
