Prosecutors – Telemundo New York (47)

NEW YORK – An IRS agent is charged with distributing cocaine as part of a drug trafficking ring that allegedly operated out of a home in Bergen County and another in New York, according to authorities.

41-year-old Michael Shelli was arrested and charged with distributing cocaine by agents of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) on October 21.

According to the Bergen County prosecutors’ report, Shelli packaged cocaine from his home and used a courier to transport the cocaine from a residence in New Jersey and deliver it to his residence in Albany where Shelli then packaged the cocaine to sell in the area.

Prosecutors indicated that they had been investigating the alleged trafficking network since March 2020 where in April they identified the house in Saddle Brook, New Jersey and later with the residence of Shelli.

The charge of conspiracy to distribute cocaine carries a maximum penalty of life in prison and a fine of up to $ 10 million. Shelli was released on an unsecured bond of $ 100,000.
