Project presentation – students had good tips for Therme Laa

“We will try to incorporate large parts of these results into our strategy”, announced the deputy managing director of Therme Laa Reinhold Hofmann.

For a project of the Krems University of Applied Sciences, students accompanied the Therme Laa – Hotel & Silent Spa and created a comprehensive report with numerous recommendations for sharpening the positioning.

During the final presentation, numerous goal-oriented recommendations for various strategic areas of Therme Laa were explained. In the course of the cooperation, the students of the English-language master’s degree in Marketing, Lisa Pfeiffer, Caroline Schuhmann, Megan Frost and Tomáš Molnár, have been accompanying Therme Laa since October 29 and also conducted a guest survey in which 4,000 visitors to the thermal baths took part. Therme Laa always tried to give the project partners a glimpse behind the scenes, as Marketing Manager Esteban Leonhard explains: “Despite the challenging situation, the students should dive deep into the subject in order to actively help shape the future direction of Therme Laa to be able to. “

They receive the necessary theoretical tools for this during their studies at the IMC FH Krems, where they have decided on the specialization “Tourism and Service Marketing”, which they use to plan and carry out marketing and management tasks in tourist destinations, accommodation providers and similar service sectors enabled. During their four semesters of training they deal with the latest tourism developments and the importance of tourism in society. Finally, they build on this theoretical foundation using practical examples – as is currently the case with the cooperation with the thermal baths.

“The practical cooperation with representatives from the business world is a win-win situation for the clients as well as the students of the Master’s degree in Marketing,” explains Professor Christian Maurer, Director of Tourism, Wine Business and Marketing. Reinhold Hofmann is also convinced of this: “The professionalism of the results and the support shows that this Master’s degree prepares the students ideally for business life.”
