Prohibition of burial in the church. A cardinal accused of abuse has died

Leading Polish Cardinal Henryk Gulbinowicz died on Monday at the age of 97. This happened only a few days after the Vatican imposed sanctions on him on charges of sexual abuse and covering the abuse in another case, the agency reports. AP.

The Polish nunciature stated a few days ago that Gulbinowicz was banned from using episcopal emblems and participating in any religious or civic events.

At the same time, it deprived the once respected cardinal, who supported the pro-democracy Solidarity movement in the 1980s, the right to have a funeral in the cathedral and the right to be buried in a holy temple. A few days after this announcement, Gulbinowicz was hospitalized in a hospital in Wrocław.

The Polish prosecutor’s office began investigating the cardinal last year. He was accused of sexually abusing a young minister in the 1990s. The late cardinal was also recently accused of helping the communist secret service.

Pope Francis apparently launched one of the greatest Catholic reforms. Watch the Nova TV report:
