Pregnant women in an emergency can apply to the foundation if they have a low income. Help can only be requested during pregnancy.
If you live with your partner or spouse, their income is also included in the calculation.
The Foundation generally grants a one-off grant upon application. It is intended for expenses that arise in connection with pregnancy, childbirth and the time afterwards, for example:
- Maternity clothes
- Initial equipment for the child
- Keeping the budget going
- Apartment and furnishings
There is no legal entitlement to foundation funds. State support must be applied for as a matter of priority.
All pregnancy counseling centers in Frankfurt and in the Main-Taunus district provide support from the Federal Foundation for Mother and Child. However, the application can only once per pregnancy in a counseling center be asked.
