A new and special YouTube channel has been opened with videos about the impact of philanthropy. The first contribution to it can now be seen. The initiator is Paul Smeets, the youngest professor at Maastricht University and he recently held the chair of Philanthropy and Sustainable Finance of the Elisabeth Strouven Fund. This chair focuses, among other things, on the development of a broader learning environment for philanthropic innovations and collaborations.
Paul Smeets’ field of research has always been philanthropy. He also conducts research into citizens’ motives for donating to wealth-raising funds. He tries to find ways to improve the well-being of citizens in the region by increasing the impact per euro donated.
In the first episode of the new video series, Smeets’ team visits a music education project financed by the Elisabeth Strouven Fund. His research team will evaluate the effect of the music education program on the development of the children.
