Production hell now at SpaceX: Musk warns of possible bankruptcy

Company SpaceX is in a difficult position. This follows from Elon Musek’s leaked e-mail to the company’s employees. According to him, the production crisis is the production of engines Raptor much worse than it appeared a few weeks ago and is far from in line with previous reports of the situation. Musk planned to take the weekend off after a long time, but said he would be on the line all night and during the weekend. To make matters worse, Lee Rosen and Rick Lim, who managed the air operations, left the company.

Musk urged all employees to come to Hawthorn to help prevent the disaster. He allowed exceptions in critically important family matters and when it is physically impossible to travel there. The problem is that if there aren’t enough Raptors, it won’t be possible to fly a Starship rocket, so it won’t even be possible to launch Starlink Satellite V2 satellites. While V1 is financially uninteresting, V2 is very important for the company. The main thing is that the company is able to produce millions of terminals a year, which costs a lot of money, and it is important that the V2 satellites are already in orbit and can handle the growing data load. Without satellites, the terminals will be useless to customers.

He closed the whole e-mail by saying that SpaceX faces a real risk of bankruptcy if the company fails to secure a Starship flight at least once every two weeks during the next year. He then said on Twitter that he was working on a remedy without further details, and in one of the others he significantly downplayed the whole situation, mentioning that if there was a serious global economic recession, bankruptcy was unlikely.
