Every week more and more corona measures were withdrawn throughout Bavaria, but not in the prisons. Now visitors are allowed – but not for all occupants.
“None of us want to party, we just want to be able to hug our loved ones again,” says an inmate of the Wrzburg correctional facility. Since the beginning of the corona pandemic, visits to the inmates of Bavarian prisons have been canceled. While, for example, the corona measures were loosened in mid-May in Thringen and now that new easing in public life in Bavaria comes into effect almost every week, the prisoners of open prisons also call for adapted corona rules in the Bavarian correctional facilities.
