Kirill Budanov stressed that the fate of all prisoners is very well known.
Head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Kirill Budanov declares that while it is known about the fate of all the prisoners and in the near future many will see their loved ones at home.
Budanov said this during informational telethonanswering a question about the fate of Ukrainian prisoners, in particular, about the lack of information about the defenders of Mariupol for about a month.
“This information is not entirely correct. Because, let’s say, almost all of us are very clearly aware of the fate. We are engaged in their release from captivity and I hope that in the near future many will see their loved ones already at home,” Budanov emphasized.
He added that it is too early to talk about a specific date, because we are talking about a phased exchange of prisoners.
“This will not be an exchange at a time at this stage. Several stages will be carried out. Small exchanges are ongoing, periodically our center reports on these figures. In the near future we hope to release a more or less significant number of our prisoners. And this will be immediately reported in the media. Wait and follow this,” Budanov said.
The head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense noted that the most difficult thing is to release commanding officers.
“The main problem is in the command staff. As for the rank and file, questions are much easier here. When it comes to the heads of units, of course, it is much more difficult. taken out for investigative actions. That’s all I can tell now,” Budanov said.
He stressed that the fate of all the prisoners is very well known.
“This issue is always under control and we are monitoring it. And we are not only monitoring it, but also taking measures for their real return. Wait a little and, I’m sure, you will see everything for yourself,” Budanov stressed.
