entertainment">Both princesses have reportedly been brought back to their homelands from abroad against their will. Latifa previously sent a cry for help via leaked video messages. She said she was being held in a villa by order of her father and feared for her life.

entertainment">Friends of Latifa are also reported to have handed over a handwritten letter from 2019 to the British authorities on Wednesday. In the text, the princess asks for attention to the fate of her sister. She was kidnapped in the United Kingdom more than twenty years ago, according to a British judge on behalf of her father.

Freedom

entertainment">Princess Shamsa al-Maktoum had spent part of her childhood in the United Kingdom. In 1999 she wrote to a cousin, disappointed that her father would not allow her to go to university. “He didn’t even ask me what I wanted. He just said no ”, the princess said according to the BBC. A year later she fled her family’s estate in Surrey, England.

Zombie

entertainment">Shamsa’s flight did not last long. Her father’s team found her in Cambridge in 2000. She is said to have flown to France by helicopter and then taken to Dubai by private jet. Latifa writes that her sister was locked up there for eight years and then was drugged with pills. “That made her like a zombie.”

entertainment">The British police also started an investigation at the time, but that came to nothing. A detective was allowed to speak to Shamsa on the phone but was subsequently denied permission to go to Dubai for follow-up investigations.
