Princess Eugenie announces second pregnancy – due date and family details revealed!

In January this year, Princess Eugenie, 33, announced that she was pregnant with her second child on Instagram, posting a photograph of her son hugging her in a field, which was taken by her husband, Jack Brooksbank. ‘We’re so excited to share that there will be a new addition to our family this summer,’ she said.

Princess Eugenie is the youngest daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah, Duchess of York, and was a granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh. Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank joined members of the Royal Family at the Coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla, in one of her final public appearances before the birth. Sarah, Duchess of York, hinted at the due date in an interview, saying the new baby was expected at the ‘end of May’.

The new baby will have no shortage of playmates. Not only will he or she be just two years younger than older brother, August, but they will also be close in age to Princess Beatrice’s daughter, Sienna, now just over a year old, and distant cousin Lucas Philip Tindall, Zara and Mike’s youngest, who was born in March 2021. Beatrice and husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are also parents to Edoardo’s son Christopher, known as Wolfie, from his previous relationship with Dara Huang.

Eugenie and Beatrice chose to give their first-born children middle names in honour of their late great-grandparents, Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh. August’s middle name, Philip – like Lucas Tindall’s – is after Prince Philip.
