Prince Nikolai adorns great prestige cover

The Danes Prince Nicholas (22), which is Queen Margrethe (81) eighth grandchild, has really accelerated his modeling career lately.

The prince has long been a sought-after name in the fashion world, where his dark mane, high cheekbones and sharp eyes have received much attention.

Back in 2018, he debuted on the catwalk for the luxury brand Burberry, and has also been one of Dior’s exclusive models. Last year, he even graced the cover of Czechoslovakian Vogue.

Barely a week ago, he appeared on the catwalk again, during a fashion show in Paris. Now the prince has also landed another front page – this time too Vogue Scandinavia.

– Had to explain

The news about the prince’s fresh front page for Scandinavian Vogue is shared by the fashion magazine itself on Instagram on Sunday afternoon.

“The young prince has charmed the entire fashion world, and has been seen several times on both the catwalk and adorned magazine covers since his debut,” they write to the photo, which shows the prince sitting in the sun surrounded by flowers.

Media as Danish See and listen, Expressen and Swedish Women’s Magazine has also mentioned the case.

In the new issue of the magazine, the prince talks about the reactions he has received when it comes to the new choice of profession.

– There is never anyone who has been against it. But of course I have had to explain why. I’ve always had to do that no matter what I do. When I have started a new job regardless of industry – or when I started at university, he says, and continues:

– I have had to explain it to my family as well, but not in a bad way or anything, he says.

His parents, Prince Joachim of Denmark (52) and Countess Alexandra (57), are described by the prince as “their biggest fans”.

Promising future

Although it is great that a young and royal adorns the front page of a world-famous fashion magazine, See and Hear royal house expert Caroline Vagle can tell that this is not the first time this has happened.

– The royals adorn many front pages at all times, but not by virtue of actually being a model like Prince Nikolai. However, he is not the first royal to be on the front page of Vogue. Duchess Kate, Princess Diana, Princess Anne and his aunt Crown Princess Mary have among others done it before him!

Vagle further follows up with the fact that the royals have always been relevant in the fashion world, some more than others. And the future as a model looks promising for Prince Nikolai, who is currently studying economics at Copenhagen Business School.

The prince will, according to Vagle with great certainty appear on several covers of fashion magazines and campaigns, before one day he “retires” from the modeling profession and becomes a full-time economist.

– There is no doubt that the job as a model means that the more people open their eyes to the prince, and preferably also become more observant of the entire Danish royal family. Especially in countries that basically have no relationship with Denmark and the monarchy, she says and adds:

– Now he has also been screened for the Danish brand Rains, and is thus a good ambassador for Danish design abroad. Grandma Margrethe definitely likes that.

Finance study time

Vagle further explains that there is a high probability that Prince Nikolai will finance his study time with the income from the modeling job.

She thinks this is good, since he does not receive appanage. In other words, the grandchildren must provide for their own livelihood.

– None of Queen Margrethe’s grandchildren will do that, except for Prince Christian who is the heir to the throne, says the royal house expert, and adds:

– Prince Nikolai, who is the oldest in the group of grandchildren, is leading the way as a good example.
