Prince Henry speaks to children who lost their parents | Entertainment

LONDON (AP) – Britain’s Prince Henry has written the foreword to a book addressed to the children of people who died on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic and in which he speaks of the pain caused by the death of his mother, Princess Diana, as a child.

Losing his mother when he was 12 left “a huge hole inside me,” he says in one of the excerpts from the book reproduced in the London daily Times. Diana died in a car accident in Paris in August 1997.

Chris Connaughton’s Hospital by the Hill is the story of a young man whose mother worked in a hospital and died during the pandemic. It is given to children who have suffered a similar loss.

“Although I regret not being able to hug you, I hope this story comforts you knowing that you are not alone,” Enrique wrote in the prologue. “When I was a boy I lost my mother. At that time I did not want to believe or accept it and it left a huge hole inside me. I know what they feel and I want to assure them that in time that gap will be filled with a lot of love and support ”.

On several occasions Enrique has reflected on the pain caused by the sudden death of his mother. Mental health awareness is a crucial part of your charity work.

“We all face loss in different ways, but when a father goes to heaven, they told me that his spirit, his love and his memory do not go away,” Enrique wrote. “They are always with you and you can hold on to them forever. I consider it to be true ”.
