Montreal entertainer Jimmy Moore continues to thrive after over three decades in the performance industry, demonstrating the same energy that defined his early career. A period initially marked by professional setbacks due to the COVID-19 pandemic ultimately spurred a creative resurgence.

Moore’s planned 25-show residency featuring the music of Madonna at the Montreal Casino in 2020 was cancelled with the onset of pandemic lockdowns. Responding to this challenge,Moore proposed a series of afternoon performances at the Mado cabaret on sainte-Catherine Street West. Initially met with skepticism by Mado’s management, who doubted the appeal of 3 p.m. shows, the concept proved remarkably prosperous. Moore now performs 35 dates annually at the venue.

Moore’s resilience and journey are detailed in his recently published autobiography,Personifier, released in November 2023 by Éditions La Presse. The book chronicles his experiences navigating adversity as a young gay man and his evolution into a determined artist.

“I came out in high school and faced significant bullying,” Moore recounts. “I carried a lot of weight. In the book, I explain how to transform that negativity into positive energy and become the highly determined person I am today. I’m no longer afraid of anything!”
