ME OUMAR YOUM ON THE PRICE OF TRANSPORT

In this regard, the Ministry of Infrastructure, Land Transport and Opening up recalls that the prices for public road transport of people are fixed by decree n ° 2009-20 of January 22, 2009.
Thus, the Ministry responsible for Land Transport informs users that no increase in transport prices has been discussed, even less decided with operators.
Consequently, any unilateral price increase would be contrary to the aforementioned decree and to the conventions signed between the urban transport regulatory authority, the Executive Council of Dakar Urban Transport (CETUD) and the AFTU member economic interest groups. .
Any increase in prices would constitute an offense against the regulations on road transport prices, in particular Law No. 94-63 of 22 August 1994 on prices, competition and economic disputes.
The Ministry urges operators to ensure the strict application of the regulations on tariffs and reserves the right to pronounce against any offender the sanctions provided for by the regulations in force.
It also invites the Security Forces, responsible for roadside checks, to ensure that current prices are strictly observed.
