Prevent and Overcome HIV/AIDS, KPA Payakumbuh Prepares Trained Officers

Langgam.id The Payakumbuh AIDS Commission (KPA) carried out socialization and strengthening of information about HIV/AIDS with the administrators and volunteers at the Payakumbuh KPA Secretariat, Saturday (12/6/2021).

Head of Public Health and P3 Department of Health (Dinkes) City Payakumbuh Fatma Nelly said that currently the efforts to prevent and control the transmission of HIV/AIDS carried out by the Payakumbuh Government were almost maximal.

Fatma explained these efforts, starting from providing services for the initial Voluntary Consulling and Testing (VCT) or known as HIV blood test, preparing doctors and their officers to ensure the readiness of the equipment.

“Now it’s our collective task how the services that are already available can be used by the community as well as possible, especially for those who fall into the high-risk group,” he explained.

Secretary of Payakumbuh KPA Fahman Rizal said this activity was deliberately carried out with the aim that all staff and volunteers care about understanding and understanding what HIV/AIDS is and able to explain to the public.

Fahman added, Payakumbuh KPA strengthen basic HIV/AIDS information to staff and volunteers. However, according to Fahman, KPA must have a network or an extension in the field, which is commonly referred to as volunteers who care about HIV/AIDS.

“Currently we have recruited as many as 30 volunteers, they come from various professions, there are community organizations, influential people in their groups (key persons) and communities in Payakumbuh City,” he said. (INF/yki)
