Presenter Peter Van de Veire stops after 13 years at MNM: “Friday 1 April is the last broadcast, no joke”

How it started
In 2008, Peter Van de Veire was one of the forces who co-founded the new radio station MNM. On Monday January 5, 2009, “De grote Peter Van de Veire morning show” was the first program to be heard on the youth channel. Over the years, Peter has been joined in the morning by many other MNM DJs: Lieselot Ooms and Gunther Tiré, Eva Daeleman, Nasrien Cnops, Julie Van den Steen, Kawtar Ehlalouch and Wanne Synnave.

Almost thirteen years of MNM also means a lot of tough moments. For example, he once presented the morning show from a huge pot of chocolate, while walking behind the garbage cart, from a motorcycle, in a truck, together with 100 toddlers, he once broke the world radio making record.

Van de Veire took his first steps in the media in 1993 with the regional channel AVS. In 1997 he made the switch to Ketnet to present Studio.KET. Two years later, he was heard on the radio for the first time and presented “De afrekening” on Studio Brussel. From 2002 he took care of the afternoon block with “The great Peter Van de Veire show”. Together with Sofie Lemaire he moved to the morning in 2006 with “The great Peter Van de Veire morning show”. During the first and second editions of Music For Life (2006-2007) he stayed in the Glass House. Since 2007, Van de Veire has been combining radio with television work for Een and SBS.
