presentation of the “College for equality” project at the Town Hall

This Friday, June 4, the 4th year classes of the Lamartine college will present at the Town Hall of Villeurbanne, at 10 am, their work within the framework of the “Colleges for equality” project. This examines issues of gender equality and the sharing of public space.

The schoolboys of the Lamartine establishment will present this Friday at the Town hall of Villeurbanne, at 10 am, a skit entitled Skirt scene. They will then take advantage of this moment to unveil a number of recommendations on the redevelopment of the college courtyard and the Place de la Paix, located next to the establishment, so that the space is better “shared”.

This presentation is the result of a year of work and reflection on the “College for Equality” project, carried by the “Robins des Villes” association and funded by the city of Villeurbanne. The project aims to “raise awareness of the different forms of discrimination and the relationship between girls and boys in playground […] and in public spaces frequented by young people “. During the year, the pupils were thus led to work on a certain number of themes such as the question of the names of streets and buildings, as well as conflicts of use in public spaces.

They were also invited to share their personal experiences and developed a number of shows and presentations, including several sketches, for the theater-forum, dealing with street harassment, school guidance or the choice of sports or musical practices. .

“Robin of the cities” at the heart of the project

Originally created in Lyon, then extended to the whole of France, the association “Robin des Villes” has been campaigning, since 1997, for a city “shared, pleasant, accessible to all and imagined by its inhabitants“. In this regard, she regularly addresses, during conferences-debates or various events, various themes on education, equality, town planning and ecology.
