“PrepaTec Esmeralda Student Honored at Change the World Model United Nations in New York City”

Luis Enrique Floresstudent of the PrepaTec Esmeralda at the Tecnológico de Monterrey, obtained honorific mention in Congress “Change the World Model United Nations”, organized by the NGO Diplomatic Associationi.

This event was held at the New York Citywhere Luis, in addition to the honorable mention, also obtained recognition for ‘Best Position Role’ of the entire congress.

This sought to deal with and resolve the issue of blocking the acquisition of massive destruction weapons by non-governmental actors, simulating different agencies of the United Nations (HER).

Luis applied to a call for the event, which had approximately 5 thousand participants from all over the world, including students from Serbia, Jamaica, Italy, Spain, France, Brazil, Paraguayamong others.

“It was definitely a incredible experience why have won two prizes in the general assembly, in front of thousands of people from all over the world, it is an indescribable feeling”, assured the student.

Luis comments that despite being a great experience, without a doubt there were some challenges that he had to face in order to have a successful participation in the congress.

“My main challenge was the culturesince the debates were in teams and my partner was someone from Serbia, whichlive with her and to be debating with her was impossible since she wanted to star in everything.

However, my determination and performance finally they made me able to overcome adversities in order to achieve the desired result ”, explained.

Throughout this experience, Luis considers that the greatest lessons he obtained were communication and critical thinking skillsexplaining the importance in their environment.

“I definitely developed and maximized my communication and critical thinking skills, which helped me understand many lectures with very important figures in world politics.

“For the world diplomatic it is important to always be asset and never remain silent, since by participating in this type of conference, you find contacts that in the future they will make changes in your environment”, detailed.

“This experience definitely allowed me to develop my communication and critical thinking skills.”

For Luis Enrique, a fundamental pillar of his success in his participation in congress and in life, were the skills that he Tec has given him throughout his student years.

“The Tec gave me a lot, and above all the ability to socialize and meet new peopleallowing me to approach them and find Points in common to make stronger relationships.

“But if I hadn’t developed those skills, right now I wouldn’t continue to have contact with important people that I’m sure help me change my future”, said.

Finally, the student highlighted that, just like him, future talents will have the passion and dedication to achieve your goals and achieve your dreams.

“All the people who like this and are really passionate about it are It is essential that they continueis to be week after week working to see which path can be followed because there is always a way.

“I found my way from elementary school, working to achieve my dreams and finding these opportunities but there are many paths that you can definitely find and if you don’t find one, you can do it yourself.” he pointed.
