Hot snack for cold days

Krefeld (dpa / tmn) – The perfect snack for a winter walk with the family: hot, fragrant chestnuts are nutritious and very easy to prepare in the oven. According to the recipe from the “Food Monitor” information service, first cut off the pointed ends with scissors.

Then cut the chestnuts crossed on the round side. Make sure that the knife is sharp enough that it penetrates to the pulp, otherwise the fruit can burst later.

Now place the chestnuts on a baking sheet and heat them in the oven for 20 to 30 minutes at 200 to 220 degrees. Tip: put a bowl of water in the oven. This increases the humidity, which prevents it from drying out. Take the roasted chestnuts out of the oven, peel them warm and eat them.

The representatives of the nut fruits contain fiber, magnesium, potassium, vitamin C and B vitamins, according to “Food Monitor”.
