Premiere Godzilla vs. Kong brought forward by two months to March 26 | NOW

Where almost every cinema film has been delayed due to the corona crisis, Warner Bros. decided to Godzilla vs. Kong to be released two months earlier than expected. The monster movie will now be released on March 26 instead of May 21, reports Variety Friday.

In Godzilla vs. Kong there are starring roles for Alexander Skarsgard, Millie Bobby Brown, Rebecca Hall and Brian Tyree Henry, among others. The film about the great reptile and the great ape will simultaneously appear in theaters in the United States and on streaming platform HBO Max.

Outside of the US, HBO Max is not available and the films will be released exclusively in theaters.

Warner Bros. recently announced that all films planned for 2021 will be offered on both platforms. Although the film studio emphasized that this is a temporary rule in connection with the cinema closures during the corona crisis, the decision has caused a lot of discussion about the future of cinema films in recent weeks. The fear of many cinema fans is that more and more studios will choose to release their titles online.
