Jürgen Klopp celebrated their 15th win in a row with Liverpool in the Premier League and broke the 70-point mark. In the catch-up game at West Ham United, the Reds prevailed 2-0 (1-0), the league leader has a 19-point advantage over champions Manchester City (51) after 24 games.
“Our primary goal is to get as many points as possible in one season. We now have 70 points, which is a great number, but that is uninteresting,” said Klopp sent a warning to all Premier League teams, who believed that the Reds will now subside: “We have to keep going and we will keep going.”
Mohamed Salah scored with a penalty (35.) for the Champions League winner, after a counterattack Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain increased in London on presentation of the Egyptian (52.).
Liverpool, who had not made it past 2-2 in the FA Cup against third-division team Shrewsbury Town and will play with their U23 in the replay according to Klopp, had missed the duel against West Ham on Matchday 18 because of the Club World Cup.
On Saturday (4 p.m.) Liverpool and Klopp will continue with a home game against Southampton FC with team manager Ralph Hasenhüttl.
