The procedures to be followed by general practitioners and hospitals were updated on Friday by the Sciensano Institute of Public Health. It shows in particular that pregnant women and children under 6 months are no longer considered to be at risk groups, “taking into account the evolution of knowledge on Covid-19”.

Compared to the previous recommendations, it appears that health professionals are now authorized to work by wearing a mask in the event of mild symptoms without fever. This mask can be worn for eight hours, says Sciensano.
A sample for Covid-19 followed by home isolation is therefore only required in case of fever.
A person who is not working in the health sector and who has an acute respiratory tract infection should contact their doctor, but a confirmatory test is no longer required. Non-essential social contacts must obviously be avoided.

Children suffering from certain pathologies or following certain treatments must be kept away from schools.
