What Jane Jordahl, 35, thought would be an ordinary day at work ended with emergency surgery to save her life.
She was attacked with a knife and an ax by a 14-year-old Praoelev.
– I thought that if I loses consciousness, I die, says Jane.
With him from home, the 14-year-old boy had a kitchen knife.
When he was going home from his place – a store outside Enköping – he attacked his colleague in the workplace’s warehouse.
In interrogation afterwards, the boy has said that he became interested in her first day at work and that he wanted to bring parts of her home.
– I noticed pretty quickly that there was something strange about him. Already on the first day he asked odd questions that felt intrusive and offensive, says Jane Jordahl, 35, who was exposed to the attack.

The second day at Praon the boy would end earlier. Jane would release him through the exit that is in the warehouse. Then he asked if she could not turn around and close their eyes. It’s about a Tiktok thing, he said. Jane didn’t want to.
– When I turn around to let him out, he flies on me and I feel how he tries to push a knife against my neck, says Jane.
– I push my head down to protect my neck, then he cuts me in the cheeks instead.
The attack continued and Jane was carved in her chest. Her one lung was punctured.
– I bleed a lot and I think that if I lose consciousness I die.
Jane managed to bite Praoeleven in his arm so that he dropped the knife. Then he instead picked up an ax that hung on the wall in the warehouse and continued the attack.
When Jane finally managed to get away from the boy, she ran to the neighboring shop. They alerted ambulance and police.
The 14-year-old boy has admitted the deed. When the police came home to him, he sat on his bed waiting.
The boy’s mother and sister have told the police that he seemed untouched. The only thing that stood out was that he was bleeding from his finger. The boy blamed him for falling on the way home.
In interrogation, the boy has told about his fascination for violence and that he watched violent videos since he was 12 years old.
Life -threatening injuries
After the attack by ambulance helicopter to the Academic Hospital in Uppsala, Jane flew off to the Academic Hospital where she is being urgently operated. On the spot, alongside the hospital bed, was Jane’s husband Karl.
– He has said it felt completely unreal. He had a hard time understanding that I was cut when he got the call.
Nearly 14 knitting ulcers got Jane during the attack. She got drainage for her lungs and an open abdominal surgery is made.
According to the investigation, Jane has received a large number of injuries in the neck, neck, face, chest and stomach. One of the stab injuries is described as “only because of temporary circumstances” did not cause her to die as a result of the attack.
– When I wake up, I’m just grateful that I have managed. Although several but will be permanent, she says.
Tried to explain to the children
A challenge after the attack has been trying to explain to the children, four and six years old, what has happened, says Jane.
– We have tried to be open with our six -year -old, without giving too much detail. We have said that a person tried to kill mom, but that he is now attached and cannot hurt us anymore.
“The family heals together”
Since the boy is a minor, he cannot get any punishment. Instead, the court has taken a position on the debt issue through a so -called evidence.
There, the court decides whether the person has committed the crime or not, but no sanction is imposed. The Court may also decide on damages to the victim.
The 14-year-old has been forcibly disposed of in accordance with the Act on the Care of Young (LVU) after the attack.
The plan is that he will go free when he is 21.
Jane has asked for personal protection, out of concern that the boy may attack her again, but since he was not a criminal offense at the incident, the police’s opportunities are limited.
She has instead been advised to move and change last name.
– I’m not going to do that. I don’t want to put my legs on my back. It feels important not to define me, she says.
Now it has been over three months since the attack, and the family is trying to move on.
– The family heals together. I actually feel a greater joy of life, just because it could have gone so badly. I could have been murdered, Jane concludes.
